If You See Something
Radim Labuda
Opening: Thursday, December 3, 6-8 pm
December 3-January 15
Czech Center New York at the Bohemian National Hall
The installation entitled "If You See Something” by Radim Labuda is composed of video material collected while the artist stayed at ISCP residency in New York in the fall of 2009. Videos by Radim Labuda are based on observations of the most everyday subjects: tourists in Times Square, lifeguards at the beach or lobsters in a tank in a shop. These fragmentary images have a surprising potential for triggering unexpected narrative lines, sparking viewer's associations and challenging us to reconsider the way we look at the daily life around us.
