VIOLA CZECH YOUTH CHOIR

The choir will give a public performance at 5:00 pm.

Viola comes from a small town of Žamberk in Eastern Bohemia. It consists of 35 students of grades 3 – 11 who are coming for their first visit to the United States.

The singers of Viola are all well traveled performers who, among other things, wanted to fulfill their dream of performing in New York City to commemorate 9/11. Viola will visit several major cities along the East Coast including Philadelphia, where they are very excited to be meeting with students of local American schools in joint singing and cultural exchanges and performances.

The choir will be featuring pieces by famous composers from Bach to Dvorák as well as gospel and modern classics like Amazing Grace and Summertime. Great portion of their repertoire comprises of a selection of Bohemian and Moravian folk songs.
