Among the many unique cultural happenings this summer is the planned performance of the Czech children’s choir Viola at the Trinity Episcopal Church in Ambler, Pa.

The choir will give a public performance at 6.30 pm in addition to singing during the 10 o’clock service.

Viola comes from a small town of Žamberk in Eastern Bohemia. It consists of 35 students of grades 3 – 11 who are coming for their first visit to the United States.

The singers of Viola are all well traveled performers who, among other things, wanted to fulfill their dream of performing in New York City to commemorate 9/11. They are also excited to be meeting with students of local American schools in a joint singing and cultural exchange.

The choir will be featuring pieces by famous composers from Bach to Dvořák as well as gospel and modern classics like Amazing Grace. However, the main portion of their repertoire comprises of a large selection of Moravian folk songs. Everyone is cordially invited to this unique cross-cultural experience.Czech School Choir Will Perform in Ambler!
