dnesday, January 27 at 7:00 pm

Center New York at the Bohemian National Hall

321 E 73 St., between 1 and 2 Ave, New York
Mr. Petr Váša, a prominent author, composer, performer and fine artist from Prague.
Mr. Vasa’s dramatic and musical form of poetry, which he invented, is “physical poetry” and does not require translation, although he is fluent in English. He is well-known in the Czech Republic, where he regularly performs and teaches.
Mr. Váša’s work was banned by the Soviet-backed government of Czechoslovakia during the 1980s. In addition to his numerous books of poetry and drawings, in 2007 he released, on the fifteenth anniversary of his creation of physical poetry, a retrospective CD Manifesto (Black Point).

Paul L. Mills a k a Poez will also be performing poetry, with digital delay and electric keyboard, and screening some videos on which other artists, including acclaimed painter Marek Kostabi, and jazz great Ornette Coleman, have collaborated.
Mr. Mills will be performing with special guest, guitarist Neil Tatar. He has appeared onstage with The Drifters, The Orlons, the Cleftones, and blues legend John Lee Hooker.

Petr Váša and Poez appeared together last November on Prague television during the 20th Anniversary of the 1989 Velvet Revolution that ended Soviet domination of what is now the Czech Republic.
