15TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION OF THE CARPATHO-RUSYN SOCIETY!
A weekend full of activities:
Fri. Oct. 9
7- 9 p.m. Welcome reception and opening of our first ever international exhibit Dana Kyndrova: Podkarpatska Rus’
– showcasing the photography of Rusyn photographer Kyndrova’s (Czech Republic) photos of The Rusyn
territory in Ukraine – free admission to CRS members and their guests.
To be held at the National Carpatho-Rusyn Cultural and Educational Center (former St. John’s Cathedral) 915 Dickson
St., Munhall, PA 15120

11 a.m. – 8 p.m.
1st National Carpatho-Rusyn Festival. National Carpatho-Rusyn Cultural and Educational Center, 915 Dickson St.,
Munhall, PA. A true celebration of Rusyn culture. Rusyn foods for sale, Rusyn artists demonstrating their crafts – from
lacemaking, weaving, icon writing, pysanky, woodburning – and lots more. Continuous Rusyn entertainment from
throughout the nation including professionals Beata Begeniova and Alexander Fedoriouk, and the singing Revilyak
Family, all originally from Slovakia; Pittsburgh’s Slavjane and Rusky Muzikanty; Ohio’s Living Traditions and Karpato-Rus
Ensembles; the St. Nicholas Choir of Homestead, PA; and the Archeparchial Choir of Pittsburgh and even the Rusyny
Ensemble of Tucson, Arizona!. Rusyn ethnic items available. Rusyn children’s activities throughout the afternoon.
Admission: $5.
C-RS MEMBERS: $3.00 Children 17 and under –free. A spectacular event!
1-4 p.m. OR 4-7 p.m.
Rusyn bus tour of Pittsburgh—visit key sites in the development of Rusyns national and internationally, including Andy
Warhol’s boyhood home, St. John’s in Rus’ka Dolyna (Rusyn Valley), St. Michael’s Church in Rankin, St. Nicholas Church
in Homestead, and the National Carpatho-Rusyn Cultural Center. See the sites from which the church splits occurred, the
immigration established itself and Czechoslovakia was formed. Historic commentary with tour. $12 per person.

Carpatho-Rusyn Society annual meeting. 1 p.m. National Carpatho-Rusyn Cultural and Educational Center, 915

4-8 p.m.
The 15th Anniversary Banquet with the awarding of the first-ever Michael Strank Award for Service. Bulgarian-
Macedonian Cultural Center, 449-451 West 8th Avenue, West Homestead, PA. 15120 Buffet dinner featuring Russian
salmon, roast pork in white wine rub, chicken and bowtie pasta , rice pilaf, sautéed corn and roasted peppers, romaine
salad, bread, butter, coffee and cake. $40 per person. Children 7-17 -$20,Children 6 and under free. Cash bar. ONLY 200
