Faun’s very late afternoon

1983, 100min.
  dir. Vera Chytilova

The main character, an aging gentleman, frightened of getting old is trying to make the most of his life.  Grotesque morality is strongly targeted on escape lifestyle mid-80 years. The movie is dominated by pretty pictures of Prague and the outstanding performance of Leoš Suchařípa. Frantisek Kovarik performed his last small role in this film at the age of  97.

View of the director, Věra Chytilova, regarding the opposite sex is not lacking in charm and humor.

  No English subtitles

 Nebe a Dudy

The simple story about a selfish and annoying rich man, who thanks to the involuntary stay in a poor family’s home, comes to enjoy life again.  The excellent performances maintain a reasonable sentiment.
