In collaboration with the Alley Theatre, Czech Center Museum Houston is hosting a cocktail reception Tuesday, April 7, 2009, 5:30 – 7:30 P.M. in Brno Gallery where at 6:00 P.M. the Alley’s Senior Dramaturge and Director of New Play Development Mark Bly will speak about the details and history of the new award winning play Rock ‘n’ Roll, which opens April 24th through May 24, 2009. Playwright Czech-born Londoner Tom Stoppard’s sweeping and passionate play spans two countries, three generations and twenty-two turbulent years, at the end of which, love remains – and so does Rock ‘n’ Roll. It begins in Prague, Czechoslovakia in 1968 when the occupying Russian tanks are rolling in, ending in 1990 retelling the story of the Velvet Revolution.
