The Bennewitz Quartet was founded in 1998 in Prague. Its members are top instrumentalists of the rising generation.

They have gained valuable experience from various interpretation courses and won prizes in international competitions – the Gold Medal at the International Chamber Music Competition in Osaka, Japan in 2005, the First Prize at Concours Europeen de Musique de Chambre in Paris in 2006, and the first prize at the International String Quartet Competition Premio Paolo Borciani. The Benewitz Quartet will perform music by Mozart, Janaček and Smetana.
